How to Build Client Reports People Actually Read
Clients rarely need every metric. They need the right story, backed by evidence.
The goal is not to add another dashboard. The goal is to reduce the distance between insight and execution.
Start with the business question
A report should begin with the objective: leads, sales, awareness, retention or efficiency. Metrics then support the story.
Explain movement
Show what changed, what likely caused it and what the team is doing next. A chart without context is not a strategy.
Keep the executive layer short
A concise executive summary can sit above detailed campaign data. Different stakeholders can then go deeper when needed.
Make the report repeatable
Templates, scheduled delivery and connected data reduce manual reporting while keeping the presentation consistent.
